D225 BOARD OF EDUCATION CAUCUS MISSION

To work in service of Northfield Township residents by providing an organized, independent, non-partisan process to fairly identify and support the best qualified candidates to fill open Glenbrook School District 225 Board of Education seats.

Purpose

A group of community citizens are reconstituting the D225 caucus after a multi-year period of hibernation.  The caucus shall function in a similar fashion to those community organizations currently seeking school board members for our wonderful feeder elementary districts: D27,D28,D30,D31,D34.

D225 Caucus serves and operates under a set of by-laws that organizes and leads a process for Northfield Township residents interested in being a member of the D225 School Board.

The Caucus works in service of Township residents by doing work that all residents may not have the time, interest, or ability to do themselves.

Specifically, the Caucus performs the following tasks (see Caucus Process for details):

  • Attracts candidates interested in serving on the D225 Board of Education

  • Provides an objective forum for interested candidates to present information about their interest and qualifications for being a school board member, via written documents and verbal discussions

  • Recommends to Northfield Township-D225 residents the persons to be “slated” on the ballot for the D225 School Board

  • Guides and assists the recommended candidates through the process of filing the paperwork, getting on the ballot, and successfully getting elected
